When you join on-line, you become a member instantly. Members who mail in their application should have their membership activated within 10 days of receipt.

When do I start receiving benefits?
Members start to receive information within one month of their payment from both NAEYC and WECA.

How do I join online?
Be sure to select Wisconsin and the local affiliate of your choice. By not selecting these specific items, it may get you a "NAEYC ONLY" membership, which will limit the benefits you receive. If your affiliate or WFCCA is not listed as an option, you can join as a Wisconsin "At-Large" member. That means you did not designate a specific affiliate. If you wish to have WFCCA as a local chapter, you MUST select Wisconsin "At - Large" # 61000, and then under the interest forums in the member demographics area, you MUST select "Family Child Care." While you are there, be sure to fill in the rest of your demographics. This will tell us a little about you and how we can make your membership work better for you.

How do I joining or renew by application form?
Be sure to specifically write which affiliate you wish to join on the line provided on the brochure for this information. If you are renewing by brochure, please be sure to include you Membership ID # which can be found on your Young Children label, or on your membership card. Renewal by form from NAEYC will have your affiliate information on it. Be sure fill in your demographic information! This assists NAEYC and WECA in making your membership work for you.

How do I choose the Wisconsin Family Child Care Association as my affiliate?
To be a part of this group, please mark "Family Child Care" as an interest forum and mark Wisconsin "At-Large" #61000, as your affiliate to be part of WFCCA. Membership rates are the same: $53.00 (Regular) or $88.00 (Comprehensive.) Any questions, please call the WECA office at 608-240-9880, ext. 7222.

What is the membership year?
The membership year is now considered a "rolling" membership. This means that memberships are one year in length and start when your membership and check are processed at NAEYC.

Do I get renewal notices?
Yes. Renewal notices are sent from NAEYC. Members receive them about 60 days prior to the expiration date allowing enough time for renewal without interruption. If you receive a renewal notice after you paid your dues, they probably crossed in the mail. You can go on-line to check your membership status in the members only section. If you are a current member, just disregard the notice. While on line, fill out your demographics. This will tell us a little about you and how we can make your membership work better for you.

What if I send in my money after the expiration date?
Your membership will have expired and you will get a new expiration date and ID# from NAEYC. Your membership will be one year from the date your membership dues are processed.

How do I know when my membership expires?
When you join NAEYC and WECA, you will receive a membership card with your expiration date printed on it. If you have further questions about your membership, you may call either NAEYC or WECA.

How often is the membership list updated at NAEYC?
The membership list is updated on a daily basis at the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The information about new and renewing members is sent to the mailing service twice a month to enable the members who renew or join to receive mailings within 30 days.

I am moving, what can I do to notify WECA and NAEYC?
The easiest way to notify us regarding your membership is to go on-line to the "Members Only" area, log in, and update your address. It may take several weeks for some information to change as some mailings may have already started to be processed and have gone to a mailing-house. Please be patient. If you have other business with WECA or NAEYC, please let us know which additional departments we should notify of your address change.

How do I upgrade my membership?
You will need to contact NAEYC with any questions regarding upgrading. NAEYC does not prorate any membership so it is best to upgrade when you renew. If you have joined within the past 30 days, contact NAEYC for their specific instructions in upgrading from Regular to Comprehensive or adding more affiliates.
